Still dealing with guilt from her previous relationship, Sydney is sure about one thing - she definitely doesn't want a relationship. But when a sexy stranger, Cole, and an older man enter the clinic on the late shift one night, injured from a stabbing, Sydney's life will never be the same again. As she spends more time with Cole, she cannot help but open up her heart to this man, whose emotions shine through his eyes. But Sydney soon learns that Mountain Ridge is a town of two sides, and West Cove, where Cole comes from, is a dangerous place that sucks you into the darkness. Cole Mason has had a troubled life and owes everything to the man who took him in all those years ago. While he knows that many of his actions are wrong and he yearns to escape the clutches of West Cove, he has never really had the motivation to do change it. Until he met her. For Sydney is so good and caring that he will do anything for them to be together and leave his past behind. But when he gets drawn into one more job, and secrets are revealed, will he survive to live the life he knows he can have with Sydney? Or will he lose the only person who has brought light into his dark world? THE FALLING KIND by Randileigh Kennedy is a beautiful story about finding love when you least expect it and fighting for the life you want to have. Sydney is a loveable character who lives to rescue animals and those around her, and she comes across as a really genuine character. But can she really rescue Cole when West Cove always seems to pull him back in? Cole is my favourite character in this novel - a perfectly crafted imperfect character. Here we find an emotional, honest, caring, and protective man who wants to change his life and be happy, but feels loyalty to those who helped him along the way, and my heart broke for him as he tried to balance those two sides of him. While there are plenty of dangerous encounters and troubling secrets unearthed along the way, it is the tender moments of honesty and love that happen between Cole and Sydney that stand out in my mind. THE FALLING KIND by Randileigh Kennedy is the perfect contemporary romance and I cannot wait to read more from this author! BOOK RATING - 📖📖📖📖📖 5+ Author Bio: A little bit about me - I was born and raised in Nevada, and now I reside in the Midwest. I have had many eclectic experiences - from being a pig farmer, a Las Vegas cocktail waitress, a radio DJ, a world traveler, an expert at Monopoly, a party addict, a hypochondriac who overuses WebMD, a wife, a mother, a book editor - and the list continues to grow. What's the purpose of this website you ask? (It's okay, I ask myself that sometimes too! :) Ultimately my goal is to help other people with my same hobbies. There are so many great self-published books on Amazon, but sometimes the stories get swallowed up by authors who are in need of some editing help. I often see their notes on author forums saying "as long as the story is good, no one cares!" However, I respectfully disagree. Poor editing can completely ruin my love for a book, no matter how compelling the story. So if I can be of any help to you with your book, I would love to contribute, even if it's just beta reading for you. Other than writing, party planning is my absolute favorite hobby.
