Here are all of the details: About This Book In 1946, the artist Marc Chagall and his young lover Virginia Haggard moved from New York City to rural High Falls, New York. Local newspapers and magazines made much of Chagall's arrival, but Haggard, the tall, pretty woman in the photos with her daughter Jean McNeil, was given little more than a name. The prose poems and hybrids in Tina Barry’s Beautiful Raft, written in Haggard’s and McNeil’s voices, allow the women to tell their story. About This Book Robert is twenty-three years old, a farmer’s boy from Somerset, who joins up against his father’s wishes. Robert forms fast friendships with Stanley, who lied about his age to go to war, and Ernest, whose own slippery account betrays a life on the streets. Their friendship is forged through gas attacks, trench warfare, freezing in trenches, hunting rats, and chasing down kidnapped regimental dogs. Their life is one of mud and mayhem but also love and laughs. This is the story of Robert’s journey to Arras and back, his dreams and memories drawing him home. His story is that of the working-class Tommy, the story of thousands of young men who were caught in the collision between old rural values and the relentlessness of a new kind of war. It is a story that connects the past with the present through land, love and blood. Buy Links Amazon UK - www.amazon.co.uk Amazon US - www.amazon.com THAT'S IT FOR THIS WEEKEND, SEE YOU NEXT FRIDAY!

ABOUT THIS BOOK Maybe this Christmas can thaw his frozen heart—and heal hers. Hollywood starlet Tia Beckett knows one moment can change your life. Her career had been on the fast track before a near-fatal accident left her with a debilitating facial scar. Certain her A-lister dreams are over, she agrees to house-sit at her producer’s secluded estate in Silver Springs. It’s the escape from the limelight Tia’s been craving, until she discovers she’s not the only houseguest for the holidays. And her handsome new roomie is impossible to ignore. Artist Seth Turner has good reason to keep his distance. Maybe spending Christmas together could be another game changer for both of them—this time, for good. MY REVIEW A compelling and emotional romance, KEEP ME WARM AT CHRISTMAS by Brenda Novak is the perfect read to cosy up with this holiday season. Tia Beckett had the world at her feet but when a tragic accident leaves her scarred, she craves solitude and anonymity to recover. When her producer offers her their secluded home in Silver Springs, it seems like the perfect solution. But life is never quite that simple and Tia soon finds herself with a roommate in the form of artist, Seth Turner. Seth, who is dealing with his own trauma after the death of his wife, didn't expect to find an A-list celebrity in his midst. He is here to help out some troubled teens at the nearby ranch and doesn't need any more complications in his life. But as Seth and Tia become closer, could they help each other figure out what they want from their future, and could it possibly be together? A beautiful setting and two characters who really burrow into your heart, and KEEP ME WARM AT CHRISTMAS hits just the perfect note for a holiday romance. Tia is struggling with the change in her appearance and how the world will react and treat her, while Seth is deeply scarred from the loss of his wife and how he is expected to live his life from now on. ABOUT THIS BOOK A snowy Victorian Christmas Two festive short stories! In The Christmas Runaway by Jenni Fletcher: wilful, independent heiress, Fiona MacKay, impulsively runs away to a remote Scottish tower where she’s trapped in the snow with equally headstrong, deliciously dishevelled Angus Drummond. In Their Snowbound Reunion by Elisabeth Hobbes: fifteen years ago, Amy Munroe and Anthony Matthews were cruelly parted, and each blames the other. MY REVIEW Two enchanting stories with utterly loveable characters and romance that will melt your heart, SNOW-KISSED PROPOSALS by Jenni Fletcher & Elisabeth Hobbes is the perfect romance read to curl up on the sofa with this winter. From determined, intelligent women who know what they deserve to the headstrong and passionate men that love them for who they are, both of these stories are sure to tick all of the boxes on your romance and festive list this year. ABOUT THIS BOOK The younger son of a youngest son, Captain William Hawksmoor of the Royal Navy never expected to inherit a marquessate, and is none too pleased when he does so, especially when he learns that the he is required to marry within a year or be forever dealing with Trustees. As the new Marquis of Athelney, he takes command of Kingscastle, the family seat, and discovers much to be done to set it in order. There is also his aunt, Lady Willoughby Hawksmoor, determined that her timid daughter should be the next marchioness. When she discovers he is far more interested in Eleanor Burgess, her under-paid and much put-upon companion, Lady Willoughby will stop at nothing to keep them apart. MY REVIEW It is a truth universally acknowledged that I am completely in love with so many books in this genre, and KINGSCASTLE by Sophia Holloway is no exception! When Captain William Hawksmoor finds himself swapping his independent life of the Royal Navy to become a Marquis, it alters his world in so many ways - the right clothes he must wear, the right places he must frequent, and having staff to cater to his every need. But none of those things shocked him as much as the stipulation in the will that states he must marry to keep his inheritance. With his formidable Aunt who is determined that her quiet daughter must be his bride, William has no doubt that they would make each other miserable, and when he cannot help but be captivated by his Aunt's companion, Eleanor, trouble is on the way. With a stunning setting, engaging characters, and plenty of charm and wit to capture your imagination, KINGSCASTLE by Sophia Holloway is sure to please historical romance and Regency fans everywhere. William is quick-witted, sharp, and likeable, and Eleanor is intelligent and feisty which I loved. There are plenty of characters in this story and they really add that something extra to the overall feeling and depth of this romance, and I became connected to their stories too. I thoroughly enjoyed KINGSCASTLE and I look forward to reading more from Sophia Holloway. AUTHOR INFO Sophia Holloway read Modern History at Oxford, also writes the Bradecote and Catchpoll medieval mysteries as Sarah Hawkswood. ABOUT THIS BOOK The City of London, 1678. New Year’s Day. Twelve years have passed since the Great Fire ripped through the City. Eighteen since the fall of Oliver Cromwell and the restoration of a King. London is gripped by hysteria, and rumors of Catholic plots and sinister foreign assassins abound. When the body of a young boy drained of his blood is discovered on the snowy bank of the Fleet River, Robert Hooke, the Curator of Experiments at the just-formed Royal Society for Improving Natural Knowledge, and his assistant Harry Hunt, are called in to explain such a ghastly finding—and whether it's part of a plot against the king. They soon learn it is not the first bloodless boy to have been discovered. Meanwhile, that same morning Henry Oldenburg, the Secretary of the Royal Society, blows his brains out, and a disgraced Earl is released from the Tower of London, bent on revenge against the King, Charles II. Wary of the political hornet’s nest they are walking into – and using scientific evidence rather than paranoia in their pursuit of truth – Hooke and Hunt must discover why the boy was murdered, and why his blood was taken. MY REVIEW An astounding tale of treachery, plots, murder, and the ever-developing world of science in the 17th Century, THE BLOODLESS BOY by Robert J. Lloyd is a must for historical fiction fans everywhere. It's 1678 and Harry Hunt has been summoned by his old mentor, Robert Hooke, to the banks of the Fleet River, where a child's body has been discovered. But this is no ordinary case of murder as the child has been completely drained of his blood, and a cipher has been left as a possible clue. With political plots teetering around every corner, Harry and Robert must uncover the reason this has happened and who is behind it all, but who can they truly trust? Using their scientific expertise, Harry is determined to get to the bottom of it all, for the victim's sake and to finally step out of the shadow of his mentor and prove himself worthy. But nothing is ever quite as it seems, and the clock is ticking. This story takes the genre of the historical novel to an entirely new level and I could not put it down. The language, settings, and characters (some of whom were real at the time) all combined to make this story feel alive in every possible way. Religion, which was at the heart of everything at that time in history, is elegantly woven through political intrigues, and watching Harry try to wade through it all while using his scientific knowledge to solve the case, was exciting and compelling at every turn. THE BLOODLESS BOY is a superb novel from beginning to end and I cannot wait to read more from Robert J Lloyd. AUTHOR INFO Robert Lloyd, the son of parents who worked in the British Foreign Office, grew up in South London, Innsbruck, and Kinshasa. He studied for a Fine Art degree, starting as a landscape painter, but it was while studying for his MA degree in The History of Ideas that he first read Robert Hooke's diary, detailing the life and experiments of this extraordinary man. After a 20-year career as a secondary school teacher, he has now returned to painting and writing. The Bloodless Boy is his debut novel. He is at work on a sequel. ABOUT THIS BOOK Cinna would quite literally kill for the throne… For years, Cinna has been forced to serve her wealthy cousins rather than attend society events alongside them. She has waited for the chance to prove herself and exact revenge. When a ball at the castle is announced, promising to bring many powerful people to town, she seizes the opportunity to strike. She bets her best friend, Johann, a small-time thief and con-man, that she can land a greater score the night of the ball than he can. They embark on parallel heists. But as their plots unfold, things begin to unravel: by the end of the night, the castle’s on lock down, a duchess is dead, a mansion has burnt to the ground – and Cinna hasn’t even stolen anything. Or has she captured something far more valuable than gold and jewels? MY REVIEW A compelling tale of revenge, PRETTY DEADLY by Kelsey Josund is a fabulous retelling of the classic Cinderella tale but with a dark edge that will blow your mind. Treated appallingly by her wealthy relatives and surviving by her wits and intelligence throughout her life, Cinna has plans to pull off the heist of all heists at the royal ball of the century which will be held at the castle. Placing a bet with her best friend and loveable thief, Johann, to make the stakes that little bit more interesting, Cinna is prepared to get what she wants. But when things start to go wrong and unexpected happenings throw everything off course for the pair, will Cinna achieve her goal, or will she get more than she bargained for? Everyone knows the tale of Cinderella and while this story definitely has elements of the classic, PRETTY DEADLY is unique in its own right with characters and a plot that will keep you gripped from start to finish. Murder, misdirection, secrets, and more all lie waiting among these pages, and I couldn't put this book down until I had reached the end. PRETTY DEADLY by Kelsey Josund is a wonderful novel and I cannot wait for more!!! AUTHOR INFO Kelsey Josund is a software engineer and author of scifi, fantasy and young adult fiction, including a series of forthcoming feminist retellings of classic childhood fairytales. Originally from Seattle, Kelsey loves getting outdoors and living in places that allow her to escape to the mountains on the weekends. She cares deeply about the ecosystems that humans impact and that impact them in return. Her writing explores these themes through the prism of the traditional coming-of-age arcs of science fiction and fantasy. Kelsey is particularly interested in stories and characters that complicate the traditional and familiar, leading her to rediscover old tales from new and unexpected angles. With a passion for storytelling in all its forms, Kelsey approaches writing fiction the same way she approaches writing code: she likes to know where it’s going, but wants to figure out the details as she goes. She believes good software is a lot like a good story—full of neat and clever solutions to tricky problems, beautiful at a granular level but also from a distance. Kelsey lives and works in Silicon Valley, California with her partner and their cat. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in computer science from Stanford University, and is currently plotting her return to the Pacific Northwest and working on her next novel. It’s an unfolding tragedy that has caught the attention of the world’s media, and pressure is rapidly growing on the Indian authorities to provide answers. For them, of course, Ethan—found barely alive at the foot of the mountain—is the key to everything. And the account he gives to investigators will prove extraordinary: of a remote commune that grew beyond recognition through a simple quirk of fate. Of a harmonious society that became driven by greed. Of a paradise befouled by its own inhabitants. Yet, for all of Ethan’s candour, there were some events that took place on the mountain of which he cannot speak—dark, terrible secrets that he intends to take to his grave.
