ABOUT THIS BOOK Caroline is a cynic career woman living the high life in Manhattan where love and relationships are but a distant memory of the past. But after a freak accident on Christmas Eve, Caroline receives a visit from a cheeky spirit of Christmas Past, Present, Yet to Come, and—most importantly—Christmas That Could Have Been. When she wakes up on Christmas Day suddenly married with three kids and living two doors down from her parents in New Jersey, Caroline has a chance to experience the life she would’ve had if she’d made a different choice. Will small-town life as a mother and a wife make her fall in love again and rediscover what’s really important in life and? MY REVIEW A modern retelling of A Christmas Carol, A CHRISTMAS CAROLINE by Camilla Isley is brimming with laughter, romance, and the importance of family and friends. Caroline has the career she has always dreamed of with the penthouse home and designer wardrobe to prove it. So what if she works all the time and is alone, who needs anyone else? Spending time with her family is a chore at this stage as their lives revolve around kids and family. But it cannot be escaped this Christmas, so Caroline finds herself begrudgingly arriving at her sister's home on Christmas Eve. But when Caroline slips on the ice as she is trying to make her escape back to Manhattan, nothing will ever be the same. Visited by a Christmas spirit who is determined for Caroline to see the error of her ways, she wakes up living near her parents, married to her ex, and with three kids in tow. As Caroline struggles to adjust to this completely new world, will she learn the error of her ways and fall in love with the life she could have had? Or will it be too late for Caroline to make the changes she would need to make, to be truly happy in every way? Laugh-out-loud funny with completely loveable characters, A CHRISTMAS CAROLINE is a fantastic romance that really warms your heart. Caroline let love go all those years ago to focus on her career but watching her figure out if it is possible for her to have it all, made this book such an enjoyable read. With plenty of mishaps, sweet romance, and a welcoming bookshop thrown in for good measure, A CHRISTMAS CAROLINE by Camilla Isley is sure to melt your heart and warm you up this festive season. ABOUT THIS BOOK She gave him her innocence. Can he win her back by Christmas? Certain that she will never love again, Timoney George has agreed to a convenient marriage. If she can’t recapture the hot, all-consuming chemistry she discovered with Crete Asgar, she might as well have cold security. Crete tried to forget Timoney, but the idea of another man possessing her is intolerable. With just twelve hours until she walks down the aisle, Crete steals her back. And now he has the night before Christmas to prove to her—and himself—that he won’t break her heart all over again… MY REVIEW Sizzling with sexual tension, THE BRIDE HE STOLE FOR CHRISTMAS is a fiery romance with characters that will keep you interested from beginning to end. It's the night before Timoney George's wedding and while this should be the happiest time of her life, it is anything but. After Timoney's beloved parents died, she moved away from her controlling uncle and threw herself into city life where she met Crete Asgar, the only man she ever loved. But when he unceremoniously dumped her from his life six months ago, Timoney found herself back in her ancestral childhood home with her uncle organising an arranged marriage for her. With her heart broken she doesn't see the point in putting up a fight and has agreed to the marriage. After all, her heart could not possibly break any more than it already has, and at least with this marriage of convenience, she will have some security. But she knows that she will never love again. Crete doesn't understand love and family, having grown up being treated badly by those who should have cherished him. But he sees his hard edges and brutal honesty as a positive, not a negative. So when Timoney confessed her love for him many months ago, he did what he always does and ended it. But something about Timoney has haunted him ever since and when he discovers that she is about to be married to some crotchety older man, he cannot stand it. He must make her see sense, and stealing her away soon becomes the only option. But will Crete finally be able to love her the way she has always loved him? Or will he hurt her even more by ending it all over again? With plenty of chemistry and enjoyable characters, I easily became hooked on THE BRIDE HE STOLE FOR CHRISTMAS by Caitlin Crews, and finished it in one sitting. Timoney was an interesting character who had changed since she had her heart broken by Crete, and it was refreshing to see her stand up to Crete and recognise that she loved him but didn't need to roll over and do what he wanted all of the time. And Crete is an alpha male character who was used to being obeyed, so learning more about him and watching him understand Timoney better, and recognise his true feelings for her was delightful. THE BRIDE HE STOLE FOR CHRISTMAS by Caitlin Crews is a searing hot story about passion and letting love in, and I look forward to more from this author. EXCERPT Excerpt of The Bride he Stole for Christmas by Caitlin Crews (Oct 26) Harlequin Presents Add The Bride he Stole for Christmas to your Goodreads! Tell me your name, he had ordered her. And then tell me what it will take to make you mine. She shuddered at that, here on her frigid bench on this lonely Christmas Eve, her body as alive and greedy as she had been that night. And Timoney wanted to scream out all the anguish, all the artless fury that he’d left her with. His betrayal so absolute that it had taken her whole months to fully comprehend exactly what he’d done. Chucked her out. Forgotten her name. Washed his hands of her completely. Yet tonight, when she should have been reveling in exactly how cold and dead inside she’d become, it was as if he was here. A ghostly presence in the mist, and it seemed deeply unfair that any ghost could fill a cold garden the way he had always overwhelmed a room. She blew out a breath and told herself not to be such a fool. For once. Crete was immovable. A terrible wall of stone and silence, and some part of her had known that from the start. And still she had run straight for all that brick and smashed herself apart.“Have you fallen asleep, Timoney?” came the terrible, wonderful, familiar voice. Timoney wrenched open her eyes, and as she did, the moon came out from behind the clouds. And it was impossible, but Crete was there. He stood before her looking beautiful and dangerous, as ever. He was sheer male glory in his typical uniform, one of those dark, bespoke suits that made love to his body in all the ways she longed to do. It was not possible, and yet every hair on her body seemed to stand on end, so she knew that it was real. That this was no dream. That somehow, Crete Asgar was stood in the remains of the garden while her uncle and her husband-to-be carried on toasting the wedding up in the manor house. “Crete…” she whispered. And all the feelings she’d been holding at bay slammed back into her, and worse, were lit up with hope. Because he had finished with her because she’d committed the cardinal sin of telling him she loved him. Why would he be here, on the night before her wedding no less, unless he was finally ready to admit what she had always suspected, that he loved her, too? What else could bring him out on Christmas Eve? “You can’t possibly marry that old man in the morning,” he told her, and he did not sound like a man tortured by love. He did not sound tortured at all. Or in love. If anything, Crete sounded impatient. “I have standards, Timoney. Obviously any lover after me will be a downgrade. But this verges on an insult.” AUTHOR INFO USA Today bestselling, RITA-nominated, and critically-acclaimed author Caitlin Crews has written more than 100 books and counting. She has a Masters and Ph.D. in English Literature, thinks everyone should read more category romance, and is always available to discuss her beloved alpha heroes. Just ask. ABOUT THIS BOOK Can neighbours become more than just good friends this Christmas? Bella Moore is excitedly counting down the days to Christmas. That is until she arrives home one evening to find her boyfriend leaving her for another woman. Completely heartbroken, Bella is left wondering if Christmas can still be the same this year. Next door, Bella’s neighbour Nick is facing his first Christmas as a single dad and doubting whether he can make it the magical time his son Freddie deserves. Determined to fix both Christmas and their broken hearts, Bella comes up with an idea: a Christmas giving tree for the whole village, where the community can unite and secretly give each other the Christmas presents they truly need. As Bella becomes chief elf, taking donations and delivering gifts with much-needed help from Nick and Freddie, the two neighbours grow closer and start seeing each other in a whole new light. But when Nick’s estranged wife returns just before Christmas, is their budding romance over before it’s begun? Or will love be Nick and Bella’s perfect gift this Christmas? MY REVIEW Heartwarming and brimming with hope and kindness, THE PERFECT CHRISTMAS GIFT by Katie Ginger is simply lovely from cover to cover. Bella Moore loves her job as a teacher, loves living in her small community, and loves her life. But when she comes home from work to find her boyfriend fleeing the house with a suitcase because he has fallen in love with someone else, it throws Bella's life into disarray. With the help of her close family and friends, Bella throws herself into the Christmas spirit and comes up with an excellent idea of a giving tree, and with the help of her next-door-neighbour Nick and his adorable son Freddie, things start to look up as the community comes together to help those who need it. And as Nick and Bella spend more time together, could another chance at love be possible? Or will their past arrive back in the village at the worst possible time? Warm and inviting, I completely fell in love with Bella and her family who demonstrate the true meaning of Christmas with their kindness and compassion. The giving tree is a beautiful idea and the story shows how vital these ideas are for so many people in so many communities. As with all great stories, there are ups and downs, obstacles and mishaps, laughter and tears, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching Bella mend her broken heart and throw herself into life again. THE PERFECT CHRISTMAS GIFT by Katie Ginger is a cracking festive read and I look forward to reading more from this author. AUTHOR INFO KATIE GINGER lives by the sea in the south-east of England, and apart from holidays to very hot places where you can sit by a pool and drink cocktails as big your head, she wouldn’t really want to be anywhere else. ABOUT THIS BOOK A charming Christmas village, a storybook castle, a royal ball, and a gorgeous prince are the last things New York City reporter Kaylie Karlyle expects to find on her holiday freelance assignment to Europe. But when the family she's interviewing turns out to be the royal family of Tolvania, Kaylie has a meltdown when the quirky queen wants her to write a Christmas fairy tale for the spunky, young princess. Kaylie must battle the princess's father, who doesn't trust the media, and her own insecurities about writing anything beyond the news. To spark inspiration for the fairy tale, the queen recruits the prickly Prince Alexander to show Kaylie the family's most spectacular royal holiday traditions. And sparks definitely fly when the only thing Kaylie and the prince agree on is that they're both more "bah humbug" than "ho, ho, ho." But somewhere between sleigh rides and snow angels, merrymaking and mistletoe, upside-down Christmas trees, and a legendary Christmas crown, Kaylie and the prince open their hearts to Christmas and start believing in themselves and each other. It's a real-life fairy tale in the making until Kaylie discovers a secret about a royal Christmas heirloom that jeopardizes everyone's happily ever after. Can the magic of the season save this holiday happy ending? MY REVIEW If you want a Christmas romance that will dazzle and enchant you, then look no further than A ROYAL CHRISTMAS FAIRY TALE by Karen Schaler. Kaylie Karlyle's entire life is centred around her job as an investigative reporter in New York, bringing people the justice they deserve by unmasking the bad guys. Dedicating every last minute to her work will be worth it when her new show comes to fruition. But when she finds herself unexpectedly unemployed, Kaylie isn't sure what her next move will be. When her old boss and mentor finds her a freelance assignment, writing up a Christmas story that's top-secret, Kaylie isn't sure if this is something she can do. After all, she stopped celebrating Christmas with her family a long time ago as they all moved on to their own careers and needs at Christmas time, but a job is a job. Yet this is no ordinary assignment. Kaylie soon finds herself living in a castle with the royal family of Tolvania and has to write a Christmas fairy tale for the young princess who has lost some of the magic of the season since the tragic death of her mother. Although the princess's father, Alex, isn't exactly welcoming as he has had a tortured relationship with the press, Kaylie cannot help but fall under the magic spell of this special place, and against her better judgement decides to stay and see if she can deliver the perfect story. While researching the many traditions that this stunning village celebrates, Kaylie cannot help but remember her own family traditions that she loved so much before work became all-consuming. And when the prince finally lets down his guard, could there be a spark between them that could make this Christmas the best one in a long time? Or will an error in judgement cost them both their fairy tale happily ever after? The characters, the setting, and the community spirit that shines on every page, all combine to make this story the perfect Christmas romance. I loved Kaylie's determination and sense of right and wrong and watching her embrace Christmas and all the magic that it can hold was a delight. Alex is a very likeable character and I wanted him to open his heart again and the rest of the royal family are simply wonderful, especially the little princess, but the Queen has to be the shining star - compassionate, intelligent, and strong for everyone that she loves. From Christmas markets to tree lighting ceremonies, Christmas tea to gingerbread cookies, A ROYAL CHRISTMAS FAIRY TALE has got it all and I cannot wait to read another book by Karen Schaler when I decorate my house for the Christmas season. AUTHOR INFO Karen Schaler is a three-time Emmy Award-winning storyteller, author, screenwriter, journalist, and national TV host. She writes Christmas movies for Netflix, Hallmark, and Lifetime, including the Netflix sensation A Christmas Prince. For her novels Christmas Camp and Finding Christmas she has also written the movies and she is writing screenplays for her new novels Christmas Ever After and A Royal Christmas Fairytale. Every year her new novels and movies are featured during her real-life Christmas Camp experiences she holds around the world and virtually. ABOUT THIS BOOK There are two types of relationships: fake and real. Chuck and Kate’s used to be real, oh-so-real. But after she broke his heart four months ago, leaving him, it became all just pretense for the sake of their entwined families. With parents who are best friends and business partners, it’s not easy for Chuck and Kate to announce they’ve split up. But with the holidays looming over them, they can no longer keep pretending. They head home for Christmas, determined to tell the truth—and end up accidentally engaged instead. The more they try to pull apart, the more the Universe seems to push them back together, shortening the road to the altar. And when just-for-show kisses stir up forgotten feelings, things get even more complicated. Now, with the midnight hour approaching, will Chuck and Kate’s relationship turn out to be fake or real? MY REVIEW Enjoyable with laugh-out-loud moments, FOOL ME TWICE AT CHRISTMAS by Camilla Isley is a warm story with characters and a community that is sure to get under your skin. Chuck and Kate were the epitome of the perfect couple - best friends forever turned love story of the century, with both of the families best friends and in business together in their childhood hometown. So when they broke up four months ago they didn't have the heart to tell their families and have avoided going home. But now it's Christmas and they have to face each other for the first time in months and travel home together to break the news to their parents, which ends up being a lot harder than they could possibly imagine. With an accidental engagement, a brand new business idea that is centred on their love story, and an unexpected visitor who could blow everything out of the water, can Chuck and Kate find a way to tell the truth to those they love the most? Or will they realise that they still have feelings for each other as their fake relationship suddenly starts to feel more real? A lovely romance in a picture-perfect setting, FOOL ME TWICE AT CHRISTMAS by Camilla Isley is the perfect story to get you in the festive mood. A must-read for romance fans. ABOUT THIS BOOK May 1898. A new client arrives at Baker Street - Abigail Moone, a wealthy, independent writer of successful mystery stories under a male pseudonym. She presents an unusual problem. Abigail claims that she devised a man's death that was reported in that morning's newspaper: that is, she planned his murder as an event to be included in one of her mystery stories. Following real people and imagining how she might murder them and get away with it is how Abigail comes up with her plots, but this victim has actually died, apparently of the poison method she meticulously planned in her notebook. Someone is trying to frame Abigail for his death, but with the evidence stacking up against her, she turns to Holmes to prove her innocence. MY REVIEW As the nights start to get a little chillier there is nothing better than settling down in a comfy chair with a cup of tea and a good mystery, and SHERLOCK HOLMES THE BACK TO FRONT MURDER is a perfect choice. Sherlock Holmes and Watson have a new case and it involves Abigail Moone, an intelligent, independent woman who writes mystery novels under a male pseudonym. Abigail is very thorough in her research for her books and when she finds a person in real life who fits perfectly for one of her characters, she follows them to get a feel for them and theorises how they will die in her story. And all of this information she stores in her precious notebook for reference. But when a man she has recently been studying is murdered in the way she has plotted in her notebook, Abigail knows that she is in trouble. Hoping Holmes and Watson can help, they try to unravel the mystery surrounding Miss Moone but nothing is what it seems, and Holmes may have to approach this case differently than his other cases if he is to discover the truth. With the classic Holmes and Watson wit and interaction, THE BACK TO FRONT MURDER by Tim Major has all the echoes of the past while still adding excitement and freshness through a different lens. The mystery is wonderfully enigmatic and compelling enough to keep readers hooked from beginning to end. The setting comes to life with the sounds, sights, and smells leaping off the page at every turn, and I thoroughly felt like part of the story as I tried to uncover the truth alongside my favourite sleuths. An excellent story in every way, I look forward to more from Holmes and Watson. AUTHOR INFO Tim Major is the author of Snakeskins, You Don t Belong Here, Blighters, Carus & Mitch, the YA novel Machineries of Mercy, the short story collection And the House Lights Dim, and a non-fiction book about the silent crime film, Les Vampires. His shorts have appeared in Interzone, Not One of Us and numerous anthologies including Best of British Science Fiction and The Best Horror of the Year. He lives in York, UK.
