Moving to Redemption, Texas, is chapter one in Caroline’s new life story. Opening a bookstore is the next. Finding love is the last thing on her mind as she settles into this new place called home. But when she meets a handsome, soulful man who’s also starting over, all bets are off. to reach a happily-ever-after Jackson McBride came to Redemption looking only to find himself, not someone to love. Ever since his marriage ended, he’s been bitter. Sure, he used to believe in love—he even has the old song lyrics to prove it—but the Jackson of today is all business. That is, until a beautiful young widow who’s moved to town inspires a change of heart. Could it be that the myth of Redemption’s healing magic is true…and Jackson and Caroline can find a second chance at a happy ending after all? MY REVIEW If you are looking for an emotional tale about two wounded souls looking for a fresh start, then JACKSON by Emily March is perfect for you. Caroline Carruthers needs something different and moving to the small town of Redemption and opening a bookstore seems like the perfect answer. Grief has made her heart and soul heavy but this close-knit community may just open her up to the possibility of happiness once more and then there is Jackson McBride who makes her heart flutter when they are together. Jackson McBride is determined to make something new for himself but love is the last thing he wants. His ex has made sure that that part of his life is gone forever. But as he falls into a friendship with Caroline is it possible that Redemption has brought them together for a deeper reason? JACKSON by Emily March is very much a story about community, friendship, and new beginnings and while there are heartbreaking moments, Emily March's books always leave me with a feeling of hope and warm thoughts. The characters are likeable and I enjoyed watching Caroline and Jackson's friendship evolve and their journey as they both try to find their feet in Redemption and with their own feelings. JACKSON by Emily March is sure to please fans of small-town reads and romance fans and I found it easy and enjoyable to read.
