Release date - 21st August 2016 Book length - 249 pages Available on - www.amazon.com | www.amazon.co.uk The day Lily walks in on her husband of three months, Marc, cheating on her with a glamorous actress, is the day that her life starts to tumble down one block at a time. Not only has Marc cheated but he wastes no time in moving in with his mistress, and flaunts his new romance in every Irish magazine that he can find. Even though Lily despises her job as call-centre supervisor, she is gutted when she gets the sack, and with an older sister that is intent on pointing out her flaws and her mistakes, Lily is not in a good place right now. But as her best friend, Frankie, and her sweet-natured dad rally around her, and help her see herself for who she really is, maybe she can pull herself out of the messiness of her life. But as things finally start to look up with a new career and a new man interested in her, her ex realises what he has lost. But does he deserve a second chance? Or does Lily deserve a second chance at the life she always wanted? THE GIRL I WAS BEFORE by Izzy Bayliss is the first novel in the Lily McDermott series, but don't worry it doesn't end on a cliffhanger. With hilarious moments throughout this story making me laugh out loud, the author also dealt with the despair and sadness of Lily with equal depth and feeling. I loved the character of Frankie who is Lily's rock, and I found myself nodding in agreement every time she spoke. Lily is a soft-hearted character, and while at times I wanted to shake her for her lack of self-esteem, her vulnerability and kind-heartedness are just who she is. I sat down to read this book for twenty minutes but it hooked me and I kept going to the end. THE GIRL I WAS BEFORE by Izzy Bayliss is a witty, heartfelt novel about love, life, and finding your own two feet in this crazy world, and I highly recommend it. I am really looking forward to finding out what else is in store for Lily and her gang!
BOOK RATING - 📖📖📖📖📖 5 Author Bio: Izzy Bayliss lives in Ireland with her husband, children and their dog. A romantic at heart, she loves nothing more than cosying up in front of the fire with a good book. Her motto is that reality is over-rated and she is happiest staring into space and day-dreaming.
