Release date - 1st September 2016 Book length - 288 pages Available on - www.amazon.com | www.amazon.co.uk Mr. David Smith may be a common-born farmer's son but that has not stopped him from working his way up in Parliament and becoming one of the chief speakers seeking Reform. Intelligent, handsome, and kind, David will do anything to help those in need. So when he comes upon a woman being attacked by ruffians, naturally he steps in to help her. What he didn't expect to find was Faith, the widowed Duchess of Ashedon, his old friend, and the only woman he has ever loved. But this Faith is not the happy, lively, inquiring girl from his past. And David will do whatever it takes to see her smile once again. Even though it breaks his heart that they can never be anything more than friends. Faith is delighted to have Davie back in her life. After her disastrous marriage, and the embarrassing way in which her husband died, a monster mother-in-law who lives with her, and a leering drunk for a brother-in-law, Faith has had little reason to smile these days - her sons being the only light in her life. But even her children have been isolated from her. In gaining Davie's friendship again Faith suddenly finds herself circulating in interesting groups, using her brain, and making new friends and she starts to take back control of her life and her children's lives. And she knows that she wants so much more than friendship with Davie, even though it is impossible. But with sensual tension running high between them, there are other threats lying in wait around the corner for them both...ones that could change their lives forever.
STOLEN ENCOUNTERS WITH THE DUCHESS by Julia Justiss is the second instalment in the Hadley's Hellions series, and can easily be read as a standalone novel. I completely fell in love with Davie who has pined for Faith from the moment he met her. He is the ultimate historical hero - dashing, intelligent, caring, and willing to do what it takes to help those less fortunate. I enjoyed watching Faith gain back her self-confidence and go after what she desires and stand up for herself again. We also get an understanding of the political landscape at that time, fraught with danger and yet optimistic with hope. With plenty of action and danger throughout, Julia Justiss weaves a spell that will delight historical romance fans everywhere. STOLEN ENCOUNTERS WITH THE DUCHESS by Julia Justiss is a thoroughly enjoyable read and my favourite of her novels so far. BOOK RATING - 📖📖📖📖 4+ Author Bio: I grew up near Annapolis, MD, a gem of colonial American architecture which from an early age inspired in me a fascination with history. After majoring in French and History in college, I worked as a business journalist before marrying a naval officer I met (where else?) at a Navy football game. That began a vagabond period of 12 moves in 15 years which included 2 year postings in Tunis, Tunisia and Oslo, Norway. After my husband left the service, we returned to his home in the Piney Woods of Northeast Texas where we built a reproduction Georgian house, raised our three children and adopted assorted dogs, cats, and transient livestock. We live there still on 24 beautiful acres of pine forest overlooking a small lake. Along with gardening, reading, and swimming, I love creating stories featuring strong heroines and fearless heroes!
