ABOUT THE BOOK A humorous read about an incredible dog and how he found his true, yet unexpected calling. A dog. A friendship. A purpose. Proven to warm your heart, “Joyful Trouble” is a fast-paced, engaging and funny story. Patricia Furstenberg paints a charming portrait of the bond between a small girl and boy and their much-loved Grandad. This book takes readers on an unbelievable journey, tackling universal themes and voicing animal rights and the importance of fighting for what is right. When a Great Dane arrives in a Navy base nobody expects him to win everybody’s hearts, although breaking some rules along the way. But things soon turn sour as somebody threatens to put him to sleep. Who will stand up for this four-legged gentle giant? A charming celebration of innocence. MY REVIEW JOYFUL TROUBLE by Patricia Furstenberg is a beautiful tale that will make you smile and make you sad at different moments throughout but most of all it will make you feel, and while it is certainly great for children, it is just as perfect for adults too. Told from the point of view of Grandfather, we hear the tale of a very special great dane called Joyful Trouble as Grandad tells it to his two grandchildren. From the moment this amazing dog arrives at the Navy base, he is getting himself into mischief, some of it hilarious, and he soon becomes so important to so many people with his wonderful ways. But he is not always helpful and somebody wants to be rid of him for good ... The action is quirky, delightful, and thoroughly enjoyable, and my children loved this story from start to finish. It raises important topics in a gentle and childlike way which is a wonderful way to start conversations with younger children who are beginning to learn about the real world and how life isn't always simple. This book also made my kids desperate for a dog so thanks for that Patricia Furstenberg 😉 JOYFUL TROUBLE by Patricia Furstenberg is a wonderful children's book with characters and action that will keep a child hooked from the very beginning, and a charming read for adults too. Definitely a must-read for 2018. Author Bio: Patricia Furstenberg is the author of Amazon Bestseller Joyful Trouble. She writes children stories about real and imaginary dogs and about animals in general. Patricia believes each creature has a story and a voice, if only we stop to listen. Patricia came to writing though reading, her passion for books being something she inherited from her parents. “When I write, I write,” she usually says. When she’s not writing she likes to read, listen to music, dance and bake. One of the characters portrayed in her children stories is Pete, the yellow toy elephant. Not many know, but Pete exists and lives in Pat's home. This Romanian born writer is living happily with her husband, children and dogs in sunny South Africa.
