ABOUT THIS BOOK Can a single act of kindness change a life forever? To many people Ruth Ryans has everything: the perfect job, a home to die for and a loving family. But it’s all lies. As Christmas approaches, Ruth feels lonelier than ever. Then Ruth meets Michael. A man who, on the night of her father’s death the year before, she showed kindness to during his darkest moment. That one single act, his miracle, helped change his life forever. Can one act of kindness really change a person’s life? Ruth decides to find out and plans to make this Christmas the most perfect one ever, opening up her home to those who need her help – the lonely, the lost and the ignored. This Christmas actions will speak louder than words and Ruth Ryans’ kindness will create little miracles for everyone … including her own battered heart. MY REVIEW A beautiful, captivating, and life-changing story, A MIRACLE ON HOPE STREET by Emma Heatherington is one of those books that you will never forget. Ruth Ryans has the perfect life with a successful career as a famous agony aunt and attending celebrity events with a different hunk on her arm most evenings, and Ruth enjoys her life, she really does. But when her father, to whom she is devoted, passes away Ruth struggles to cope and one year later, everything that she enjoyed in her life before just doesn't seem to cut it anymore. When she is reminded of a good deed and how it transformed a stranger's life, it isn't long before Ruth is brimming with an idea to make the first Christmas without her father more bearable by opening it up to some of her readers who are also struggling this year. And as Ruth throws herself into other people's lives, she soon begins to take stock of her own and realise what she wants and needs. But when she plans to meet a stranger to offer her help but sees a face she knows well, will Ruth be able to put the past behind her and embrace the future? A MIRACLE ON HOPE STREET by Emma Heatherington is such a superb and special book that will make you tear up and make your heart squeeze tight at times. The subject of loneliness in all of its forms is excellently portrayed and made me think about how something small that one does can make such a difference to someone else's life. The characters are so engaging and relatable that it will make you stop and think about others and what they may be feeling, and there were times when I couldn't stop the tears from falling. But this is not a doom and gloom story at all. There is fun, freshness, laughter, friendship, and more amongst these pages, all beautifully packaged with the sentiment that you never truly know how people are feeling behind the face that they show to the world, so ask them. Showing someone that you see them may make all the difference. A MIRACLE ON HOPE STREET by Emma Heatherington is moving beyond words and would make the perfect gift this Christmas.
