ABOUT THE BOOK How far would you go for revenge on your ex? Imogen’s husband is a bad man. His ex-wife and his new mistress might have different perspectives but Imogen thinks she knows the truth. And now he’s given her an ultimatum: get out of the family home in the next fortnight or I’ll fight you for custody of our son. In a moment of madness, Imogen does something unthinkable. Something that puts her in control. But how far will she go to protect her son and punish her husband? And what will happen when his ex and his girlfriend get tangled up in her plans? MY REVIEW What a story!!!! STICKS AND STONES by Jo Jakeman sucks you into this domestic thriller immediately and you don't surface for breath until the very end. When you pick up this story be prepared to be completely blown away. Imogen has suffered both mental and physical abuse at the hands of her now estranged husband for years. But a part of her always believed that she deserved it in some way. But when he threatens to take her home and her precious son away from her, Imogen discovers a core of anger and strength within like never before. She will do whatever it takes to protect those she loves, and she soon finds herself in charge and all the power at her fingertips ... Enthralling, fresh, and utterly brilliant, STICKS AND STONES by Jo Jakeman has everything you want in a good psychological thriller and more. The characters are different, engaging, some likeable, some not so much, but they will make you feel like you are there and witnessing the drama as you step into their shoes for a while. Another thing I really loved about this book was the fact that I had absolutely no idea how it all would end - now when you start reading this book this sentence may confuse you but just you wait and see, you will find yourself holding your breath wondering what way it was going to pan out. STICKS AND STONES by Jo Jakeman is a thrilling debut that would translate perfectly onto our tv screens - I can already see myself sitting on the sofa waiting for the next episode - and I urge all fiction readers to pop this one in your shopping basket.
