ABOUT THIS BOOK How do you know who to trust... ...when you don't even know who you are? You are outside your front door. There are strangers in your house. Then you realise. You can't remember your name. She arrived at the train station after a difficult week at work. Her bag had been stolen, and with it, her identity. Her whole life was in there – passport, wallet, house key. When she tried to report the theft, she couldn’t remember her own name. All she knew was her own address. Now she's outside Tony and Laura's front door. She says she lives in their home. They say they have never met her before. One of them is lying. MY REVIEW When I received this book in the post I was instantly intrigued by the premise but nothing prepared me for this gripping, tense, and at times, horrifying tale of secrets, lies, and evil. Standing outside her home, she may not remember her name but she knows this is where she is supposed to be. But the two people who answer the door, Tony and Laura, disagree. This is their home and they have no idea who this woman is. Kind-hearted Laura takes her in, arranges a doctor's appointment, and gives her a bed for the night but when the doctor uncovers a possible answer to who this woman is, it terrifies Laura. But Tony doesn't believe in Laura's fears and is determined to help this woman whom he has given the name 'Jemma'. Someone isn't telling the truth. Someone is hiding something. But the question is who? From the very beginning, I was sucked into this story and the little hairs on the back of my neck were standing to attention. The characters are cryptic and secretive and I found myself doubting each and every one of them at different times but never dreamed of the truth which was genius (and harrowing!). If ever a book was made for a tv/film adaptation, then it is this one. FORGET MY NAME by J.S.
