MY REVIEW From the moment I picked up A SUMMER TO REMEMBER to the moment I turned the final page, I was completely enthralled with this animating story of friendship, second chances, and new beginnings. When Clancy's relationship and business shatter to pieces all around her, she needs somewhere to escape to and fast. So taking up the caretaking position at the holiday cottages that she manages on behalf of her cousin, Alice, seems like the perfect answer. No internet, dodgy phone coverage, and a stunning setting in Cornwall sound like paradise to Clancy at the moment. But her arrival in the small village isn't welcomed by everyone as Clancy is unfairly lumped in with her flighty cousin who was last seen fleeing from the village after breaking the heart of local man Lee. As Clancy starts to settle in and explore her new life, she cannot help but feel an attraction to Aaron, Lee's brother, who owns the other half of the business but as the past bursts back into the present, could it ever work between them? And as Clancy must face up the pain of what has happened to her in London, is Cornwall her forever place or just a stopgap along the way? The setting is stunning and I have come to expect nothing less from Sue Moorcroft. I fell in love with these characters but Clancy is by far my favourite - strong, kind, understanding, and very relatable, Clancy quickly became a friend that I didn't want to leave until I knew how it would all work out for her. There is plenty of drama, laughs, and tears, and I loved getting to know this small community as they dealt with their own issues and the hardships that they had to navigate. A SUMMER TO REMEMBER by Sue Moorcroft is a wonderful story that will warm your heart and I cannot wait for more from Nelson's Bar.
