ABOUT THIS BOOK In the snowy perfection of Aspen, the White family gathers for youngest daughter Rosie's whirlwind Christmas wedding. First to arrive are the bride’s parents, Maggie and Nick. Their daughter’s marriage is a milestone they are determined to celebrate wholeheartedly, but they are hiding a huge secret about their own: they are on the brink of divorce. After living apart for the last six months, the last thing they need is to be trapped together in an irresistibly romantic winter wonderland. Rosie’s older sister Katie is also dreading the wedding. Worried that impulsive, sweet-hearted Rosie is making a mistake, Katie is determined to save her sister from herself. If only the irritatingly good-looking best man, Jordan, would stop interfering with her plans… Bride-to-be Rosie loves her fiance but is having serious second thoughts. Except everyone has arrived – how can she tell them she's not sure? As the big day gets closer, and emotions run even higher, this is one White family Christmas none of them will ever forget. MY REVIEW The best book I have read this winter, possibly this year, A WEDDING IN DECEMBER by Sarah Morgan is a must-read for all fiction fans this season. Rosie is getting married to her perfect match, Dan, in the picture-perfect setting of Aspen. It doesn't matter that they have only been together a few months, Rosie knows this is right and she will have everyone she loves all together to celebrate her wedding and Christmas. After all, her parents married quickly when they were young and look how happy they are? So this is definitely the right decision, right? Except Rosie's parents, Maggie and Nick, are separated and she doesn't know anything about it and her very strong and capable sister, Katie, is falling apart at the seams and is determined to stop Rosie from making a huge mistake because she knows Rosie is having doubts. And as everyone descends on the mountains, misunderstandings, confusion, and secrets will all come tumbling out but will there be a wedding? The setting is beautiful and Sarah Morgan has a wonderful way of making a scene come alive for her readers, but it is the characters that really make this story extra special. Rosie is the one who has always been vulnerable and protected but now she is more confident and determined even if her sister hasn't noticed, and watching her work her way through her problems and make herself heard was very satisfying. I loved Katie even though I wanted her to butt out of Rosie's relationship for five minutes but learning about what happened to her and seeing her care so deeply for everyone except herself, broke my heart. Maggie and Nick are amazing - they made me laugh and they made me stop and think about how easy we can fall into a pattern where making time for personal relationships and for ourselves can often be neglected. And then there is Catherine, Dan, and Jordan - all great characters with personalities that shine and I definitely have a soft spot for Jordan!!! A WEDDING IN DECEMBER by Sarah Morgan is a story about being true to yourself, following your heart no matter how crazy it may seem, and about family, and it is my favourite book ever by this author. All I want now is for it to be made into a movie and I'll be happy 😄. AUTHOR BIO Sarah Morgan is a Sunday Times and USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance and women's fiction. She has sold more than 18 million copies of her books and her trademark warmth and humour have gained her fans across the globe. ABOUT THIS BOOK When Jess Rigby lost her dad, the family coped in different ways, alone in their grief. Now, her mum seems to be going off the rails and her sister, Isla, who moved to France, is now back and determined to get the old family home on the market. But the last thing Jess wants this Christmas is for renovations to start on the house. It's sure to stir up old memories she's desperate to forget. And to make things worse, Isla seems to have hired the most obnoxious builder in the world to do the work. Jess could ignore the fact that women seem to be putty in his hands. But what she finds harder to ignore is the frisson she gets every time she squeezes past him in the mess that is now their beloved family home! Soon, the house begins to give up its secrets, some of them shocking. Can the family finally start talking and find a way to move on from the past this Christmas? MY REVIEW A story that is both heartbreaking and heartwarming, SNOWFLAKES OVER MOONDANCE COTTAGE by Rosie Green is sure to captivate you from beginning to end. Jess is dealing with a lot after the loss of her dad and worrying about her mother so the last thing she needs is her sister arriving back from France looking for their family home to be redecorated and put up for sale. But unfortunately, that is the situation that Jess finds herself in. Not only does Jess have to deal with all of her emotions as they begin to go through all of their dad's belongings, but she has to deal with a handsome but very irritating builder who is getting right up her nose. And as the renovation continues, unexpected revelations begin to come to the surface, and as Jess and her family try to wade through their grief, will the possibility of love shine a little light into her sadness? This book is definitely a tear-jerker but you will find plenty of reasons to smile too. Loss and grief are very sensitively and realistically handled, and watching Jess and her family deal with everything really broke my heart. The characters are well-rounded and while it did take me a while to like Isla, I instantly connected with Jess and wanted her to feel a little magic of the festive season. SNOWFLAKES OVER MOONDANCE COTTAGE by Rosie Green is an emotional story about family and losing your way, and I cannot wait to read more from Rosie Green. AUTHOR BIO Rosie has been scribbling stories ever since she was little. Back then, they were rip-roaring adventure tales with a young heroine in perilous danger of falling off a cliff or being tied up by 'the baddies'. Thankfully, Rosie has moved on somewhat, and now much prefers to write romantic comedies that melt your heart and make you smile, with really not much perilous danger involved at all - unless you count the heroine losing her heart in love. Rosie's brand new series of novellas is centred around life in a village cafe. The latest, 'Bonfires & Hot Chocolate at the Little Duck Pond Cafe', is out now. Watch out for 'A Winter Wedding at the Little Duck Pond Cafe', which will be published Christmas 2019. ABOUT THIS BOOK For Caitlin Carter, love means business. She's taken matchmaking back to basics. There is no swiping left. No creepy location tracker. Definitely no unsolicited pics of areas of the anatomy no one wants to see. She's made dating great again: personal, patient... and profitable. Her startup is going from strength to strength, with clients wanting to find the love she has with her own husband Harry, and she even has celebrities wanting to use her services... Caitlin is living the perfect life. Except it's all a perfect lie. And Caitlin doesn't know how long she can keep it up. In an era of social media and dating apps, when we have never been more connected yet more isolated, The Matchmaker is a story about love, loss and loneliness, and learning to accept your reality. MY REVIEW Emotional, compelling, and downright heartbreaking at times, THE MATCHMAKER by Catriona Innes is ultimately a story about accepting the past and learning to live again and to be open to those who love who best. Caitlin is running her own business, helping people to fall in love and find their happily ever-after just like she did with her husband, Harry. This isn't some modern app but an old-fashioned matchmaking agency where Caitlin really gets to know her clients and feels that kick in her stomach when she finds their perfect mate. But with business slowing down, a celebrity client seems to be the answer to her problems, as well as sharing more about her perfect marriage with Harry. Except that Caitlin is living a lie. Her wonderful love story has changed and Caitlin has been lying to so many people. And as everything begins to spiral for her, will Caitlin admit the truth and have a real chance to move forward with her life? From the cover, you could assume that this book is an easy, pick-up put-down read with plenty of laughs, but looks can be deceiving. There are moments of humour in this book but there is also a deeper, emotional element that is dealt with in a very sensitive and authentic way. I guessed the twist early on but that didn't take away from the characters or story and I cared so much for Caitlin and wanted to see her flourish from beginning to end. I'm warning you now, the tears they came a calling, so have your tissues at the ready when you sit down to read THE MATCHMAKER because you will definitely need them. THE MATCHMAKER by Catriona Innes is about the highs and lows of love and life and will touch your heart in many ways. Catriona Innes certainly has a new fan in me. AUTHOR BIO Hello, I'm Features Director at Cosmopolitan where, in the name of investigative journalism, I have joined an undercover police force, worked as a Playboy Bunny croupier and - for one night only - performed a stand-up set with just two hours practice. It was all terrifying! But hopefully will all make it into a book one day (so will be worth it!).
