ABOUT THIS BOOK Maria is ready to say ‘Yes, to the dress’! As owner of Happy Ever After, Maria Mallory is Westfield's resident wedding planner, spending her days making dreams come true for future brides. Maria even has her own perfect day planned out too, she just needs to find the right man. So when she falls in love with local celeb Darcy Burgess she can't believe her luck – it was finally her turn for her Happy Ever After. Or so she thought. Jilted at the altar, Maria can't believe that her fairytale ending hasn't come true. She's ready to give up on love once and for all. But little does she know that once you stop looking for it, love has a way of surprising you… MY REVIEW THE WEDDING SHOP ON WEXLEY STREET by Rachel Dove made me laugh out loud, tear up a little, and made my jaw drop at times, and all of it surrounded by wonderful, engaging characters that felt like family by the end. Maria has always dreamed of being married to the man of her dreams but when she finds herself dropped at the altar, her whole life starts to crumble down around her. Not only has she lost Darcy, the man of her dreams, but she could also lose her business - who is going to want to have a wedding planner whose own love life is such a disaster?! With the help of her closest friend, Maria really gives having fun and letting loose a little a go, but it isn't long before Maria finds herself in even deeper water and when she starts to have feelings for the local electrician, her life is only going to get more complicated, because Darcy may be having regrets ... With true friendship (which is hilarious at times), the meaning of real love, and characters that I really connected with, THE WEDDING SHOP ON WEXLEY STREET by Rachel Dove is one of the most entertaining books that I have read in a long time - so entertaining that I didn't put it down until I had reached the end! With lots of laughs along the way, there is also friendship and plenty of self-doubt with an added extra of life not turning out exactly like you had planned, which is often the best thing. THE WEDDING SHOP ON WEXLEY STREET by Rachel Dove was everything that I hoped it would be and is just as enchanting as its beautiful cover, so if you need a great story then look no further. AUTHOR BIO I am a wife, mother of two boys, degree student, avid reader and writer of words. I sometimes sleep, always have eye bags and dream of retiring to a big white house in Cornwall, with 2 shaggy dogs, drinking wine on my seafront balcony whilst creating works of romantic fiction. All done with immaculate make up and floaty dresses. In the meantime I nearly always remember to brush my hair, seldom have time to look in a mirror and write many, many to-do lists. ABOUT THIS BOOK Audrey's family has fallen apart. Her two grown-up daughters, Jess and Lily, are estranged, and her two teenage granddaughters have never been allowed to meet. A secret that echoes back thirty years has splintered the family in two, but is also the one thing keeping them connected. As tensions reach breaking point, the irrevocable choice that one of them made all those years ago is about to surface. After years of secrets and silence, how can one broken family find their way back to each other? MY REVIEW I always find that the hardest reviews to write are the ones where I absolutely adored the book so much that I don't really know how to put it into words how special that book is. Well, this is one of those times. Completely enthralling, heartbreakingly emotional, and utterly consuming are just some of the phrases that I associate with the magic that lies between these pages and it is truly a book that should not be missed. One fateful day all those years ago was all it took for sisters, Jess and Lily, to change beyond recognition. Now they are both adults with their own families, their own struggles and hardships, and they are virtually strangers. But their mum Audrey knows only too well that life is short and is determined to get her daughters to speak about the past and whatever secret that is keeping them apart. She needs her girls to come back together again but could it possibly be too late? IF ONLY I COULD TELL YOU by Hannah Beckerman is a story that will make you cry - now I'm not talking a little sniffle into a handkerchief, I mean straight out ugly crying of the highest order to the point where your husband wakes up beside you and says 'Jesus, what's happened?!" in a panicked voice. Sometimes an author has just got that something extra when it comes to characters and their emotions and Hannah Beckerman has just got it. The pace is perfect and there were some unexpected moments along the way which is always a plus, but it is the characters themselves which are so special in this story and the question of love, real family love and what you would do for those you love, which is the beating heart of this family drama. Compelling, magnificent, and heartachingly beautiful, IF ONLY I COULD TELL YOU by Hannah Beckerman is one of the best books I have read and I highly recommend it to all fiction lovers. AUTHOR BIO Hannah Beckerman is an author, journalist, event chair and broadcaster.
