I must confess that I do sometimes judge a book by its cover and I feel that an eye-catching cover can go a long way to selling a book especially when it is from an author that I have never read before. It doesn't matter what format the book is in (ebook/paperback/hardback) a good cover is important. So I decided to start a new monthly feature to show some cover love, where I will gather together whatever covers have caught my eye during the month and give my favourite a book spotlight. So the month of May had some AMAZING covers, some of the books I have read and some of which I have not, and here are my selection:
But it is the cover of UNDER AN AMBER SKY by Rose Alexander that just transfixed me and had me looking at it over and over again. The colours, the town nestled into the hillside, the water - it all combines to make you feel like you are there, standing at that wall with the heat bearing down on you, looking out at the sea. It makes you want to be there, and reading the story is the next best thing! Here is the info about where to buy this book: Release date - 24th May 2017
Book length - 258 pages Publisher - www.harpercollins.co.uk Amazon UK - www.amazon.co.uk Amazon US - www.amazon.com ABOUT THE BOOK When Sophie Taylor’s life falls apart, there is only one thing to do: escape and find a new one. Dragged to Montenegro by her best friend Anna, Sophie begins to see the light at the end of a very dark tunnel. But when she stumbles into an old, run-down house on the Bay of Kotor she surprises even herself when she buys it. Surrounded by old furniture, left behind by the former inhabitants, Sophie becomes obsessed by a young Balkan couple when she discovers a bundle of letters from the 1940s in a broken roll-top desk. Letters that speak of great love, hope and a mystery Sophie can’t help but get drawn into. Days in Montenegro are nothing like she expected and as Sophie’s home begins to fill with a motley crew of lodgers the house by the bay begins to breathe again. And for Sophie, life seems to be restarting. But letting go of the past is easier said than done… If you want to read my review of UNDER AN AMBER SKY here is the link: www.booksofallkinds.weebly.com
